Production Equipment Operator

Alvarado, TX

Responsibilities:

  • This position is responsible for the movement of raw, in-process, and finished materials during production of products. Core, Leadership, & Functional Competencies ?Ability to plan, organize, pay attention to details and multi-task in a fast paced work environment ?Excellent communication skills, including reading, writing and speaking English ?Ability to work well with people in a number of positions ?Ability to identify, define and resolve problems ?Actively seeks and supports continuous improvement activities in process efficiencies, costs and effectiveness of work ?Knowledge of general safety guidelines and Sabre’s quality expectations and application in the work place Key Responsibilities ?Assists machine operators, welders, and other personnel in loading/unloading, transporting raw, in-process, and finished materials throughout the facility. ?Must be able to accurately identify raw material needed to supply to production. ?Uses heavy equipment such as cranes or magnets to move various sizes of steel plates and poles. ?Coordinates incoming and outgoing parts. ?Communicates with multiple departments regarding hardware status ?Moves in-process and finished poles to appropriate area in yard. ?Performs safety routine inspections prior to operating equipment. ?Abides by all Safety Standards and Policies including use of all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). ?Additional duties as assigned by Supervisor and/or Management.


Requirements:

  • ? At least one year of forklift driving and/or crane/heavy equipment experience preferably in a manufacturing environment. ? Ability to read blueprints required ? Basic Math skills required ? Experience with Hardware Coordination preferred ? Experience with MS Office such as Word and Excel ? Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and attention to detail are important. ? Demonstrated ability to work with frequent interruptions in work flow and constantly changing priorities. ? Must possess clear and articulate verbal and written communication skills. ? Welder Lead

Bossier City, LA

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and delegate daily tasks to assigned production employees
  • Use the company's computer system (EPICOR/Vantage - MES), to collect labor hours and track process information on each job Supervise employee duties to insure Safety, Quality, and Productivity goals are being met
  • Prepare proper training for production employees as needed
  • Check that housekeeping is maintained in area
  • Use Microsoft Outlook (email) to communicate within and outside of the department

Maintenance Tech

Responsibilities:

  • Performs preventative maintenance and repairs on all plant equipment and facilities.
  • Performs diagnosis, testing, disassembly, inspecting, repair and re-assembly of plant equipment or components such as hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders, hydraulic shear, vacuum equipment, roller leveler, cranes, etc.

Welder Lead- STP Weekend Shift

Responsibilities:

  • Gives daily work assignments to personnel within the department. Makes decisions regarding work priorities based on published schedules and conversations with manufacturing manager, taking into account his/her knowledge of assigned personnel, individual skills and existing personnel vacancies.
  • Continuously monitors progress on daily work schedules to assure that satisfactory progress is being made.

  • Collaborates with the inventory department to determine material needs and availability.

Educational Requirements:

  • Associates degree in related field and/or at least 3 years previous manufacturing experience.

Welder A- Weekend Shift

Sioux City, IA

Responsibilities:

  • Manually positions pole assembly in pole rollers into proper position for welding.
  • Reads and interprets drawings (including weld symbols) and specifications to determine proper location of attachments, as well as weld size and configuration.
  • Adds, subtracts, multiplies, and divides feet, inches, fractions, and decimals. Uses tables to convert fractions to decimals and decimals to fractions
  • Adjusts welding machines to achieve desired results within parameters of established welding procedures. Frequently pushes pulls and lifts up to 50 pounds.
  • Uses oxy-fuel torch to pre-heat parts to be welded in accordance with published welding codes and specifications
  • Uses GMAC or FCAW welding process to weld small components or assemblies in 1G and 2F positions
  • Wears protective equipment, including safety glasses, insulated welding gloves, leather sleeves and/or cape and welding hood
  • Works in confined areas at various locations on the small pole assembly line as necessary to weld components described above
  • Uses chipping hammer, wire brush, motorized grinders, and motorized wire brush at various times to clean welded areas.
  • Uses pneumatic drills and magnetic drills to drill carious size holes on pole assembly as required by drawings and specifications
  • Visually inspects his/her work to identify material discrepancies and to ensure that welds have been completed satisfactorily in compliance with applicable drawings and specifications.
  • Uses overhead cranes to transport and move material. Overhead crane training will be required.
  • Uses a weld gauge to measure weld size, standard and metric
  • Reads and interprets work orders and daily production schedules.
  • Corrects labor reporting in MES system to ensure operations are complete.
  • Assists fitter in assembling pole assembly when needed. Uses measuring tape, level, square and angle finder to measure distances and angles
  • Uses oxy-fuel cutting torch and plasma-arc torch for cutting steel.
  • Operates assembly line cart system to move tubular shafts into position for cutting on band saw and for fitting. Operates band saw for cutting tubular shafts according to specifications.
  • Maintains a clean work area.

  • Uses plasma torch and oxy-fuel torch to cut steel. Uses jigs made at Sabre for laying out vang slots and for cutting holes in shafts for inserting hand hole rims, arm mounting simplex, couplings, and other small parts. Wear protective goggles or welding hood to protect eyes from harmful rays.
  • Moves around round tube or formed shaft as necessary to get into proper position to accurately measure and assemble components described above including standing on elevated platform when necessitated by the size of the shafts.
  • Uses motorized grinders, motorized buffers, stone grinders, and drills to help assemble pole assembly according to prescribed specifications, codes and drawing. Wears protective face shield and safety glasses to protect eyes and face.
  • Adjusts welding machine to achieve desired results within parameters of established welding procedures. Changes tips, ceramic cups, and electrodes in plasma torch as needed to achieve desired cutting results.
  • Uses oxy-fuel torch to preheat parts prior to welding. Read codes and specifications to determine proper temperature and uses instruments provided to measure temperature.
  • Uses pneumatic drills and magnetic drills to drill and ream various sizes holes in poles as required by the drawing.

                  • Uses the Flux Cored Arc Welding process to tack weld various small components to round or formed shafts to make a pole assembly for the welder to weld. The pole assembly generally consists of a round tube or formed shaft, baseplate, hand hole, arm mounting simplex, tenon top, vangs, step lugs, ladder clips, and/or other small parts. Layout various locations on round tube or formed shaft based upon interpretation of drawings and specifications. Uses measuring tape, level, square, and angle finders to measure distances and angles. Adds, subtracts, multiplies, and divides feet, inches, fractions, and decimals. Uses table to convert fractions to decimals and decimals to fractions. Uses plasma torch and oxy-fuel torch to cut steel. Uses jigs made at Sabre/Texas for laying out vang slots and for cutting holes in shafts for inserting hand hole rims, arm mounting simplex, couplings, and other small parts. Wear protective goggles or welding hood to protect eyes from harmful rays. Moves around round tube or formed shaft as necessary to get into proper position to accurately measure and assemble components described above including standing on elevated platform when necessitated by the size of the shafts. Uses motorized grinders, motorized buffers, stone grinders, and drills to help assemble pole assembly according to prescribed specifications, codes and drawing. Wears protective face shield and safety glasses to protect eyes and face. Adjusts welding machine to achieve desired results within parameters of established welding procedures. Changes tips, ceramic cups, and electrodes in plasma torch as needed to achieve desired cutting results. Finish weld various products of the unit to keep the product moving through the large pole department in a timely manner. Reads and interprets weld symbols. Uses oxy-fuel torch to preheat parts prior to welding. Read codes and specifications to determine proper temperature and uses instruments provided to measure temperature. Uses chipping hammer, wire brush, motorized grinder, and motorized wire brush at various times to clean welded areas. Uses pneumatic drills and magnetic drills to drill and ream various sizes holes in poles as required by the drawing. Wears protective equipment, including safety glasses, insulated welding gloves, welding cap, leather sleeves, and/or cape, and welding hood for protection against hot metal, arc rays, grinding debris, and other potentially. Performs visual inspecting and identifies material discrepancies to assure welds have been completed satisfactorily in compliance with applicable drawings and specifications. Uses a weld gauge to measure weld size. When called for by the drawings and specifications, must produce full-penetration welds as defined by American Welding Society code. Uses air-arc gouger to remove weld defects, and rewelds to meet specifications. Uses overhead crane to load finished poles into bolsters for transportation out of the pole assembly area. Welds other products in other areas, using either Flux-Cored Arc Welding or Gas Metal Arc Welding process. Assist and instructs other welders and fitters when needed to overcome deficiencies in quality and/or productivity.
