Inventory Control Specialist C

Sioux City, IA

Responsibilities:

  • Performs cycle counts of all parts and materials.
  • Maintains bin accuracy and precise counts for both inside and outside bins.
  • Tracks and records heat numbers for all jobs and production orders.
  • Inputs correct counts of material and parts into Epicor.
  • Verifies all material and parts are returned including counts, part numbers and checking for damage.
  • Receives incoming material into the ERP system.
  • Issues and ques material out of inventory.
  • Pulls and prepares product for production and shipment.
  • Operates a forklift and other equipment for the purpose of moving, locating, relocating, stocking, and counting materials in accordance to production standards.
  • Contributes to a safe working environment by being responsible for quality, safety, organization, and cleanliness in area of operation.
  • Contributes to team effort by communicating and working well with others, as well as accomplishing related tasks as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Requirements:

  • 1 to 3 years of recent inventory control or warehouse experience, along with forklift operating experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft office products such as Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Effective and efficient English written and verbal communications skills.
  • Must work well in a team environment.
  • Must be able to multi-task in a fast paced environment.
  • Must be detail oriented and perform with a high level of accuracy.
  • Must be able to work with little supervision and be self-motivated.
  • Must be able to certify at Sabre to drive and operate a forklift.
  • Position requires work in a plant/manufacturing environment. Required PPE includes safety glasses, steel-toe metatarsal boots and hearing protection worn at all time on the production floor in addition to other specific PPE that must be worn for specific tasks.
  • Environment may include fluctuations in temperature, dust and noise.

Responsibilities:

  • Runs, maneuvers, navigates or drives heavy equipment or mechanized equipment in paint booth area, such as forklifts, cranes/overhead cranes, liquid coating equipment, trucks, etc.

  • Ensure machinery, tools and equipment are in good working order and follow quality guidelines.
  • Inspect all lifting equipment prior to use (forklifts, cranes, chains, slings, etc) to ensure safety.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all galvanized products meet Sabre quality requirements, minimize downtime, and promote efficiency and uptime.
  • Perform final inspection to ensure all products are free of uncoated areas, acid spots, lumps, projections, globules, edge tears, spikes or heavy deposits of zinc which will interfere with intended use of the product.
  • Measure the thickness of final product and document according to the quality program guidelines.
  • Conduct all inspections in accordance of ASTM A123 and with regard to specific customer requirements that may go above and beyond the standard.
  • Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments or material or equipment needs.

Press Brake Machine Operator

Responsibilities:

  • The Press Operator works under the direction of Tower Shop Supervisor, and performs machine set-up. Duties include, but are not limited to, operating overhead to determine layout dimensions, marking bend locations on plates to within 1/32”, positioning plates on the press for forming, and operating handling equipment for removal of formed pieces. Duties & Responsibilities (brief statements and just the primary ones) Uses common shop mathematics to compute the necessary angles and dimensions required. Read tape measure, angle finder, and other necessary measuring devices. Read blueprints and flat sheets to lay out work within tolerances to assure accuracy and to meet required specifications and department quality standards. Uses overhead bridge cranes to load and unload press, requiring acceptable levels of eye, hand and foot coordination. Adjusts to different depth and tilt settings on the press to proper positions to meet tolerances and various specifications. Reads and understands labor reporting system, and uses same to report work accomplished, as well as any needed shop or productivity reports. Uses all necessary safety equipment and procedures, to prevent injury to himself/herself or other personnel. Stands 100% of the time while operating press. Lifts, pulls, pushes, pries, and drags heavy materials into position 20% of the shift.

    Plasma Machine Operator

    Alvarado, TX

    Responsibilities:

    • Under the direction of the supervisor and his appointed lead person, operates the CNC Shape cutter machine with oxy-fuel and plasma torches to produce pole shaft trapezoids, base plates, and other parts. Duties & Responsibilities (brief statements and just the primary ones) Reads daily workloads to determine what parts and shafts are required, and prioritizes according to constraint and shipping buffers. Determines what materials are needed, checks materials on hand, and orders any other materials needed from stores. Instructs material handler on what material to load and/or unload, which material to return to stores, how to load table to maximize productivity. Checks material for grade, thickness, and size. Color-codes parts as required per routing. Reads prints, determines tolerances, and checks parts against prints to ensure quality of parts being cut. Based on the appearance and quality of parts being produced, makes appropriate adjustments to the processes, such as travel speed, tip size, tip replacement, gas pressures, kerf compensation, torch height, and other factors as needed to produce the desired quality. Performs all functions associated with operation of the CNC shape cutting machine. Start-up and shutdown procedures. Transfer of programs to and from the host computer, setting up the programs to produce required parts, originating programs from standard shapes, modifying programs from oxy-fuel to plasma and from plasma to oxy-fuel, adjusting kerf settings. Understands all functions on CNC, i.e. plasma cutting tips/nozzle size and speed charts, oxy-fuel cutting tips and gas pressures, kerf settings, amperage settings, standard shapes, keyboard to computer, and appropriate instruction manuals. Performs daily, weekly, and monthly operator preventive maintenance. Communicates problems with CNC shape cutter or any other equipment to lead man, supervisor, and/or maintenance to ensure problem resolution. Uses knowledge of the machine and its characteristics to assist maintenance personnel in maintaining and trouble shooting its system. Uses and understands measuring instruments, i.e. tape measure, level, protractor, and micrometer. Determines optimum plate utilization to minimize scrap. Maintains housekeeping in assigned areas. Responsible for safety and environmental issues regarding assigned area, i.e.material handling of material, crane use, vacuum lift use, cutting torch, hot parts, lifting weight limits, proper eye protection, and proper level in water table to minimize smoke generated during cutting process.

    • Reads and interprets work orders and daily production schedules.
    • When called upon, assist fitter in assembling pole assembly. Uses measuring tape, level, square, and angle finder to measure distances and angles
    • Uses oxy-fuel cutting torch and plasma-arc torch for cutting steel.
    • Operates assembly line conveyor system to move tubular shafts into position for cutting on band saw and for fitting. Operates band saw for cutting tubular shafts according to specifications.


    Requirements:

    • Must have knowledge of basic math.
    • Must be able to read and write.
    • Good listening skills preferred.
    • Must be able to stand 100% of scheduled shift. Lifting, pushing, prying, and dragging heavy materials.
    • Must be capable of bending, stooping, crawling under or over and occasional climbing of stairs/ladders heights up to 6 or 7 feet.
    • Lifting up to 50 lbs.
    • Abnormal level of noise due to grinding, chipping, hammering requires hearing protection (ear plugs) be worn at all times.

                  Long Seam Welder (Nights)

                  Responsibilities:

                  • Inspects end of poles for straightness and squareness of edge cuts. Trims and/or grinds as necessary, in order to leave ends suitable for shipment to customer, or for fit up base plates.

                  • Uses the Flux Cored Arc Welding process to tack weld various small components to round or formed shafts to make a pole assembly for the welder to weld. The pole assembly generally consists of a round tube or formed shaft, baseplate, hand hole, arm mounting simplex, tenon top, vangs, step lugs, ladder clips, and/or other small parts. Works in Large Pole department on individual fitter station to assemble pole assembly. Assist material handler in loading round tube or formed shaft on individual fitter station. Reads and interprets drawings to determine parts needed to assemble pole assembly. Locate and gather Storeroom Personnel staged parts needed for assembly from parts staging area. Frequently pushes, pulls, and lifts up to 50 pounds. Reads and interprets drawing to assure proper location of various small part attachments. Layout various locations on round tube or formed shaft based upon interpretation of drawings and specifications. Uses measuring tape, level, square, and angle finders to measure distances and angles. Adds, subtracts, multiplies, and divides feet, inches, fractions, and decimals. Uses table to convert fractions to decimals and decimals to fractions. Uses plasma torch and oxy-fuel torch to cut steel. Uses jigs made at Sabre/Texas for laying out vang slots and for cutting holes in shafts for inserting hand hole rims, arm mounting simplex, couplings, and other small parts. Wear protective goggles or welding hood to protect eyes from harmful rays. Moves around round tube or formed shaft as necessary to get into proper position to accurately measure and assemble components described above including standing on elevated platform when necessitated by the size of the shafts. Uses motorized grinders, motorized buffers, stone grinders, and drills to help assemble pole assembly according to prescribed specifications, codes and drawing. Wears protective face shield and safety glasses to protect eyes and face. Adjusts welding machine to achieve desired results within parameters of established welding procedures. Changes tips, ceramic cups, and electrodes in plasma torch as needed to achieve desired cutting results. Finish weld various products of the unit to keep the product moving through the large pole department in a timely manner. Reads and interprets weld symbols. Uses oxy-fuel torch to preheat parts prior to welding. Read codes and specifications to determine proper temperature and uses instruments provided to measure temperature. Uses chipping hammer, wire brush, motorized grinder, and motorized wire brush at various times to clean welded areas. Uses pneumatic drills and magnetic drills to drill and ream various sizes holes in poles as required by the drawing. Wears protective equipment, including safety glasses, insulated welding gloves, welding cap, leather sleeves, and/or cape, and welding hood for protection against hot metal, arc rays, grinding debris, and other potentially. Performs visual inspecting and identifies material discrepancies to assure welds have been completed satisfactorily in compliance with applicable drawings and specifications. Uses a weld gauge to measure weld size. When called for by the drawings and specifications, must produce full-penetration welds as defined by American Welding Society code. Uses air-arc gouger to remove weld defects, and rewelds to meet specifications. Uses overhead crane to load finished poles into bolsters for transportation out of the pole assembly area. Welds other products in other areas, using either Flux-Cored Arc Welding or Gas Metal Arc Welding process. Assist and instructs other welders and fitters when needed to overcome deficiencies in quality and/or productivity.
